Privacy and audience measurement

Updated: 17 October 2026

BYNIGHT publishes this website and is responsible for the audience measurement described here. Contact manaiamir.tn@gmail.com for privacy questions and requests.

Automatic By Night audience measurement

This website automatically measures visits, page views and active browsers to produce internal aggregate statistics. A small Google Analytics consent choice appears on an eligible first visit; declining does not affect the website or separate By Night aggregate measurement. You can opt out at any time through “Privacy” at the bottom of the site. Previously saved refusals and Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signals recognized by our integration are respected.

The server-only bn_audience_id cookie contains a random identifier limited to this domain. It expires no later than 24 hours after creation without renewal. It temporarily avoids counting the same browser across multiple tabs. A visit is a browsing session; another visit may start after 30 minutes of inactivity. Visit counts therefore do not represent distinct people.

This collector does not retain IP addresses, browser fingerprints, individual page-address histories or referral sources, device information or individual navigation histories. It creates no shared identifier across network sites. Received identifiers are transformed into site-specific hashes before temporary storage. Only aggregate daily counters by site and, since 17 October 2026, by public page path are retained long term, for up to 25 months, then removed by periodic maintenance.

Visible pages send a presence signal every 15 seconds; presence expires after 45 seconds without a signal. Temporary data is removed after 35 minutes of inactivity by the purge running every minute. Browser presence does not prove that a person is looking at the page. Exclusions, some bots and technical blocking limit these counts; they are not an exhaustive count of people.

Your opposition preference is saved on this browser and domain for up to 180 days unless cleared. Opting out stops new measurement and requests deletion of associated temporary records; existing aggregate totals are retained. An older opposition saved through the dedicated form may last one year; you can change it in the internal statistics preferences. Historical statistics collected with consent before this new measurement remain separate and are no longer updated by this integration.

Google Analytics: optional measurement

Google Analytics 4 is separate from By Night measurement and optional. Its tag loads only after you explicitly accept; refusal does not block the site or send visits to Google. Ad-related consent settings remain denied by default. After acceptance, Analytics cookies (including _ga), page and domain details and certain interactions may be sent to Google, excluding URL parameters, phone numbers, message contents and form values. You can withdraw your consent from Privacy settings at any time; future Google events stop and accessible Analytics cookies are removed.

Stopping collection does not erase data already sent to Google. That history remains subject to the retention settings of the “ByNight Network” property and is available to authorized BYNIGHT users. Contact us with questions or requests concerning that history.

Website operation

Session and security cookies support administration and preferences. Separate technical logs support site operation and security. Information provided by email or through a service such as WhatsApp is used to handle your request; that service’s privacy rules also apply.

Recipients and your rights

Google may process data in several countries. See Google’s privacy policy and data processing terms. Depending on applicable rules, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability, object to processing, and complain to the relevant authority. Contact BYNIGHT using the email above; please do not send identity documents without being asked.
